SOLon BR is the vertical PV variant of the SOLYCO SOLon system family for flat roofs with bitumen waterproofing. The system enables photovoltaics without roof penetration – with EPDM overlay, bifacial glass-glass modules, and project-specific planning for bitumen roofs.
Bitumen roofs are widespread in existing buildings and place high demands on PV mounting, sealing, and structural integrity. SOLon BR was developed for flat roofs with bitumen waterproofing and enables vertical PV installation without screws into the roof membrane.
The EPDM layer ensures the system remains securely in place on the roof surface. At the same time, the bitumen waterproofing remains untouched, as SOLon BR is installed without roof penetration.

Thanks to its vertical east-west orientation, SOLon BR generates solar power particularly in the morning and afternoon. This yield profile differs from conventional flat-roof PV systems with a strong midday peak.
The bifacial glass-glass modules utilize light on both the front and back. Reflections from roof surfaces and the surrounding environment can further enhance the energy yield potential.
