Bringing green roof and PV together
Conventional PV mounting systems can lead to conflicting objectives on green roofs: shading, coverage, maintenance access, ballasting and vegetation must be carefully coordinated with one another.
SOLon GR takes a different approach. The modules stand vertically. This keeps the roof area between the module rows usable, accessible and open to rainwater, light and air. The vegetation is not covered over a large area by modules, but integrated into a vertical PV layout.
This makes SOLon GR particularly interesting for extensive green roofs, gravel roofs and retrofit projects where existing roof functions are to be preserved.

SOLon35 GR
SOLon35 GR offers a 35 cm gap between the module's lower edge and the substrate. This creates more space above the roof surface and is relevant for green roof systems where the substrate requires more clearance.

SOLon GR
SOLon GR is the variant with approx. 20 cm of clearance between the lower module edge and the substrate – for when a smaller distance to the roof surface is sufficient and the roof greenery is built up correspondingly low.
All the advantages of the green roof are retained
Green roofs make a significant contribution to rainwater retention, urban climate, biodiversity, and building protection. At the same time, roof space is becoming increasingly valuable for photovoltaics. SOLon GR was developed precisely for this interface.
The system uses vertically mounted, bifacial glass-glass modules, thereby reducing the surface area covered. Rainwater, light, and air can still reach the roof surface.
The SOLon base stabilizes the vertical PV system precisely where structurally necessary – without roof penetration, with low surface load and a roof-friendly contact area. This makes SOLon suitable even for sensitive flat roofs, green roofs, and bitumen and membrane roofs.
