SOLon35 / GR - Green Roofs

SOLon35 and SOLon 20 GR are vertical PV variants for green and gravel roofs. Depending on the project, they are installed with a 20 cm or 35 cm gap to the substrate.

PV Magazine Award 2024 for SOLYCO SOLon green roof system

pv magazine TOP INNOVATION
Award 2024

In 2024, SOLon was named a TOP INNOVATION by pv magazine. The reasoning: the system combines photovoltaics and green roofs in an elegant way, requires less ballast, leaves more roof area uncovered and can also be used on existing green roofs.

The smarter E AWARD 2026
Finalist

In addition, SOLYCO SOLon35 – Vertical PV System for Green Roofs by SOLYCO Solar was nominated as a finalist for The smarter E AWARD 2026 in the Photovoltaics category.

Power when buildings need it

Distinctive annual yield profile with vertical PV

SOLon generates a particularly valuable yield profile with a higher share in the morning, afternoon and winter periods.

In the winter months, the sun is lower, while bifacial modules can additionally use reflected light from roof surfaces. This creates a PV profile that is not only designed for maximum summer midday yields, but distributes power generation more broadly across the day and the year.

Dual-peak generation

Particularly usable power is generated in the morning and afternoon.

Winterstrom

A low sun angle can benefit vertical modules during the winter months.

Albedo effect

Bifacial modules utilize reflected light from roof surfaces and the surrounding area

Less snow effect

Vertical modules tend to remain free from snow shading and soiling.

Award-winning green roof PV system from SOLYCO

SOLon in practice

SOLYCO SOLon was developed for flat roofs where conventional PV systems place particular demands on structural load, roof sealing, vegetation or installation. Reference projects show how vertical PV can be used on different roof types.

In four steps from roof sketch to installation.

Getting started with SOLon is this easy:

1.

Submit project

Send us your drawing, sketch or roof plan with details of the area and location.

3.

Consultation & Fine-tuning

In a personal consultation, we will work together to optimize the most economical configuration.

2.

Get preliminary planning

We will create an initial, non-binding design with performance and area estimates for your roof.

4.

Implementation with specialist partners

Our specialist partners will install it - or you can become a SOLon installer or dealer yourself.
