SOLYCO TECC GmbH is the winner of the Berlin-Brandenburg Innovation Award 2025. The award recognizes the newly developed connection technology TECC-Connect® , which for the first time enables the industrial production of solar modules from abundant materials - entirely without critical and environmentally harmful raw materials such as silver, lead and bismuth .

Why TECC-Connect® can change the PV industry

As the global energy transition gains further momentum, it will become clear: Photovoltaics will only remain truly future-proof if solar cells can be manufactured sustainably on a gigawatt scale.

This is precisely where TECC-Connect® comes in: Instead of soldering cells, copper wires with a thermoplastic conductive coating are applied. The electrical connection is created solely through heating and gentle pressure .

  • No critical raw materials (no silver, no lead, no bismuth)

  • Low processing temperatures (120–180 °C) → lower energy consumption

  • Increased compatibility with temperature-sensitive high-performance cells

  • Economical mass production possible

  • Significant cost savings are possible through silver-free production.
